To my new, amazing Big Apple Adventure Family!

Although Shabbat is just over 25 hours and ended last evening, I am still flying high from the energy levels in the room.  Whether it was sitting at a delicious meal, singing assorted songs, dancing, or have a group discussion, there was really a uniting energy present that I will always cherish.

When we talked, I kept on asking several of you what grades you were in.  Your sophistication and deep knowledge of assorted subjects caused me to ask the question.  It was hard to believe that you are just 9th and 10th graders in high school.  The warmth and respect for one another was palpable.  Listening to you and watching you left me with very positive feeling about what lies ahead for each of you.

Watching Levi, Rabbi Yehuda, Jeremy and your amazing advisors in action was heartwarming and very much inspiring.  The care and focus on both the importance of communal deeds and fun during this trip was simply perfect (I now know whom I should contact when I need a well-rounded tour/adventure in a city).  Watching some of the videos online and comments offered, it is evident that your advisors’ leadership skills and altruistic ways have enhanced yours.  They certainly have enhanced mine.

As I move ahead, I will look back at this Shabbat for each of it components and for the experience as a whole.   I am thankful to Levi for inviting me and for having the unique opportunity to meet each of you.

Now 24 hours later, I am missing my Big Apple Adventure Family, but this Shabbat will forever remain very special and close to my heart.

Good luck to each and every one of you in all your future endeavors. May you continue to grow as the wonderful Jews and human beings you are.

All the best,

Jamie

P.S.  Keep in touch, and if you ever come to NYC, we will roll out the red carpet for you again.  Also, a special shout-out to my 2 new bow tie-wearing brothers, Aaron and Seth!
