Tammy Kaplan A”H was a tremendous Ba’alat Chesed who spent a lot of time making sure that Jewish teens around the community had access to important Jewish activities. She would often offer to anonymously pay for teens to attend Shabbatonim they couldn’t afford to attend and anonymously sponsor scholarships for NCSYers to attend Summer Programs.
As a tribute to Tammy, friends of the Kaplan family have established the Tammy Kaplan A”H Scholarship Fund- a fund that provides scholarships for NCSYers in the Chicago area to participate in meaningful opportunities.

In its first year, the fund will give 5 deserving NCSYers $3,600 each toward study in Israel, 10 deserving NCSYers $1,500 each toward an NCSY Israel Summer Program and an additional $10,000 would be used during the year to help NCSYers who can’t afford it, come to NCSY Shabbatons and local events at no cost.
With your help, we can carry on the legacy Tammy established.
