“Best. Summer. Ever.” took on new meaning this year as 10 teens from the Midwest, including 8 from Minnesota, made it to Israel on TJJ, JSU/NCSY’s summer trip to Israel for Jewish public school teens.

Just weeks before the July 2 start date, with rockets flying from Iran to Israel, the trip was cancelled. But then the unthinkable happened – a ceasefire was announced, and TJJ was back on.

And for the Minnesota teens who made it to Israel, this was a summer of miracles.

A summer of connection.

A summer of growth.

And a summer of making the most out of a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity they almost missed out on.
