Hi, everyone!!
This blog is live from NYC! Today was a really eventful day! To start our adventure, we all met at the airport bright and early. After a smooth and relaxing flight, we arrived at LaGuardia Airport. From there we all traveled to the OU offices in downtown Manhattan. We ate lunch and listened to a speaker tell us how kosher food is made, and how it impacts businesses and many people’s kosher eating habits.
We then boarded the Staten Island Ferry to see scenic views such as the Statue of Liberty and the city skyline. Even though the wind was out on the river, we all went out on the balcony to take pictures.
Ground Zero was the next stop on our list. It was good to get to see the memorials because of the large impact 9/11 had on everyone’s lives. After Ground Zero, we traveled to Tomchei Shabbos in Queens to help prepare food for people in need so that they will have food to celebrate Shabbat. We packed lots of boxes and did a lot in one hour. (You can see it live on Facebook!)
The last stop for the night was to get dinner at Carlos and Gabby’s. It is a Mexican restaurant that keeps all the food kosher. We’re staying at a Hilton in New Jersey which is nice and comfortable.
Overall, we had the best 1st day to our adventure and can’t wait for more adventures to come!
